Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED required. Must also have at least one of the following as required by Federal law for Title I:
    Associates Degree (in any area) At least 48 hours of college credits. Willing to complete the Para Pro Exam (provided by BAPS for a fee)
  • Experience:

    Previous experience working with students, preferably in reading and/or math
  • Skills:

    Computer literate; must be adaptable to student schedules; able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism with parents and school staff
Essential Job Functions
  • Assist in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities aligned with Title I program goals.
  • Reinforce concepts introduced by the teacher through practice and guided activities.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to support student learning in literacy, math, or other focus areas.
  • Assist in preparing materials and information for Title I parent involvement activities.
  • Collaborate with staff to support communication with families regarding student progress.
  • Track and report student progress to teachers and administrators.
  • Observe and document student behavior and learning needs to inform instructional practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided to ensure compliance with Title I funding requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers to align interventions and activities with the school's Title I plan.
  • Support teachers in maintaining a positive, structured classroom environment.
  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, and other non-instructional periods as needed.
  • Participate in Title I-related training sessions to stay informed about program requirements and instructional strategies.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by the building principal, Executive Director of Federal Programs or Federal Programs Specialist.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility in regard to student scheduling and staffing needs and in the acceptance of extra assignments related to Title I program needs.
  • Maintains confidentiality standards as set forth by Broken Arrow Public School.

Ability to project a professional company image through in-person, phone, and electronic interaction. Attendance Statement

Able to be in attendance for assigned responsibilities with 95% attendance.

Environmental Conditions

Primarily inside working conditions with regular exposure to outdoor environmental conditions. Some outside duty assignments required with exposure to pollen, heat, cold, wind, humidity or other weather conditions.

Physical Standards

Ability to lift/carry and manipulate objects and supplies of up to 10 lbs for up to 50 feet is frequently required; ability to lift/carry objects of 11-24 pounds for up to 50 feet is occasionally required. Standing in place for short periods of time. Walking as required to access equipment and perform responsibilities. Sitting as required to complete tasks. Use of hands to do fine finger work as in operating a computer.

Strong hand-eye coordination. Talking and hearing as to communicate concerning job-related duties as assigned and communicate via telephone. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) with or without correction. Distance vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors). Peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
