- Education:
Bachelor’s degree and valid Oklahoma certification in the subject area taught, meeting Oklahoma State Department of Education and federal standards for a qualified teacher. - Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written and oral information.
- Skilled in writing reports and correspondence.
- Effective oral presentation and response to questions.
- Mathematical reasoning applied to practical situations.
- Problem solving under limited standardization.
- Interpretation of various instructional formats.
- Teach district‑approved curriculum using a variety of instructional techniques that promote continuous school improvement and student achievement with efficient use of class time.
- Guide learning toward district curriculum goals by establishing clear short‑term and long‑term objectives for each lesson and communicating them to students.
- Participate actively in collaborative planning, data analysis, and instruction with peers and district initiatives.
- Ensure students demonstrate mastery of district objectives through projects, daily assignments, and performance on formative and summative assessments.
- Engage in district‑approved professional development focused on building competencies and instructional strategies that meet state and district requirements.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Create a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, establishing clear expectations for student behavior.
- Develop and maintain lesson plans and instructional materials appropriate to district curriculum, differentiated for individual student needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents during and outside the normal school day.
- Accept and perform teaching and other duties, including co‑curricular and extracurricular tasks, as assigned by the superintendent or principal to maintain educational programs.
- Attend all required meetings with the superintendent and principal.
- Comply with the assigned duty times of the teacher contract day.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, adapt to changes, project a professional image, build positive relationships, manage challenging situations, and communicate concerns appropriately.
Attendance StatementRegular and reliable attendance is required. Employees must meet at least 95% attendance expectations for assigned responsibilities, in accordance with district policy.
Environmental ConditionsPrimarily indoor work; occasional exposure to environmental conditions.
Physical StandardsMust sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, talk, and hear regularly; needs clear vision, proper focus, rapid response for student safety, and ability to intervene in student behavior situations.
