Job DescriptionTITLE OF POSITION: Assistant Teacher
This position works as part of a teaching team, partnering with the teacher/lead teacher to develop activities for preschool (Head Start) children and provide varied experiences and an appropriate learning environment. The assistant works with typically developing children and children with disabilities, assists the teacher in carrying out goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards, and works with families to promote parent involvement.
Additional duties may be assigned based on program need and areas of developing expertise, and the position may be assigned to different classrooms or centers as required for program operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or G.E.D. plus some experience working with preschool children. A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is preferred.
Position Type: Full‑Time
Salary: $13.40 to $14.10 per hour
