The Rudisill Regional Library is seeking an enthusiastic and service‑driven Librarian - Generalist who is passionate about lifelong learning, digital literacy, and meaningful community engagement. The Rudisill Regional Librarian will also work with the Genealogy Department in developing knowledge of TCCL resources, programming and supporting needs to include Tribal and African American pursuits, and support the African American Resource Center to shape a welcoming library experience for people of all backgrounds.
Responsibilitiesand Qualifications
- Assists customers and staff by answering reference, readers’ advisory, directional, and career-related questions. Recommends materials, resources, services, and programs through one-on-one guidance with Book-a-Librarian sessions, and by working customer service areas;
- Develops, maintains and manages specific portions of the collection through item evaluation, selection, and weeding;
- Supports community outreach programs and participates in library projects, committees, and activities as assigned;
- Develops and implements engaging and innovative programming to support library initiatives and goals;
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented and collaborative environment as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams, including community partners and library co-workers;
- Identifies the needs of customers and staff and connects users to appropriate resources and services in a timely manner;
- Leadership skills, good judgement, and the ability to make staffing and building decisions when designated at the Person in Charge (PIC);
- Actively supports TCCL’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion efforts, and the Library’s Be All In culture;
- Must possess a master's degree in Library Science (MLIS).
- Previous experience with teaching/training and public speaking is required.
- Two or more years of experience planning and implementing successful public library programs is required.

Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week

ScheduleMonday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
Tuesday: 10:00am – 7:00pm
Wednesday: 10:00am – 7:00pm
Thursday: 12:00pm – 9:00pm
Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm rotating with Saturday 9:00am – 6:00pm
Rotating Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm and Saturday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Occasional Sunday: 12:30pm – 5:00pm with flex time during week
Physical Activity & Environmental ConditionsWork occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional light lifting, such as three or four reams of paper, four or five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds) may be required. There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less than optimal temperature and air conditions. The job may involve dealing with moderately unpleasant situations, such as occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of video display terminal.
