- Education:
Bachelor's degree with valid Oklahoma certification in subject area taught; meets Oklahoma State Department of Education and Federal standards for a qualified teacher - Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret written information; skill in writing required reports/correspondence; ability to effectively present information orally and respond to questions from others, work with mathematical concepts and apply to practical situations; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exits; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Knowledge of special education laws, policies and procedures; must possess technological literacy.
Ability to use sound judgment in any situation. Ability to deal successfully and rapidly with changes in assignments and properly respond to applicable correspondence/communication received. Ability to project a professional company image through in-person, phone, and electronic interaction. Ability to build and foster harmonious rapport and work cooperatively with District staff and the public while achieving the objectives and goals of the position.
Ability to handle problematic and/or difficult situations professionally by communicating with the appropriate person.
Regular and reliable attendance is required. Employee must be able to meet attendance expectations of at least 95% for assigned responsibilities, consistent with district policy and contractual agreements.
Environmental ConditionsPrimarily inside working conditions with some exposure to extreme environmental conditions during duty assignments. Some outside duty assignments required with exposure to pollen, heat, cold, wind, humidity or other weather conditions. Exposure to bodily fluids.
Physical StandardsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and move throughout classrooms and other instructional areas. The employee must be able to communicate effectively using speech and hearing to interact with students, staff, and families. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective devices.
