Classroom Teacher General Education

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and valid Oklahoma certification in the subject area taught, meeting Oklahoma State Department of Education and federal standards for a qualified teacher. Skills include reading, analyzing, and interpreting written information; writing required reports and correspondence; presenting information orally; working with mathematical concepts; solving practical problems; interpreting instructions; and adapting to changes in assignments and responsibilities.

Responsibilities include teaching district-approved curriculum, employing instructional techniques, maximizing class time for instruction, establishing clear objectives, participating in collaborative planning and professional development, maintaining accurate records, creating a conducive learning environment, communicating with parents, accepting assigned duties, attending required meetings, and performing other duties as assigned.

The position demands sound judgment, professional communication, building positive working relationships, managing challenging situations, and maintaining regular and reliable attendance of at least 95%. The employee must work primarily inside but may have some exposure to outside conditions and must be able to perform various physical tasks to ensure student safety.
