Description of PositionThe College of Liberal Arts at Northeastern State University is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for a full-time Assistant Professor position in the Social Work program.
Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in social work, contributing to curriculum development, advising students, engaging in scholarly activities, and participating in service to the department, college, university, and community. This position reflects NSU’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, student success, and the preparation of future professionals who will serve diverse and dynamic communities.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- MSW from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program
- Minimum of two years post‑MSW social work practice experience
- DSW/Ph.D. in social work or a related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered; however, all degree requirements must be completed by July 31, 2026.
- Teaching experience in micro, mezzo, and/or macro settings
- Capacity to teach across program levels (bachelor's and master's)
- Ability to teach via various instructional delivery methods, including face‑to‑face, service‑learning, and online

Salary: $58,290.00 annually with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
