Legal.io is working with a leading aerospace defense company who is seeking a Ethics and Compliance Associate with experience handling labor mischarging and government contracts. This is a full-time position (40 hours / week) for 12 months, with potential to extend/convert. This is a fully remote position.
Scope of WorkTitle: Ethics & Compliance Counsel (Secondment)

Pay Rate: $60 - $80 / hour ($120,000 - $160,000)
Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance on ethics and compliance matters, focusing on labor mischarging and government contracts.
- Conduct risk assessments and internal audits to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Investigate allegations of mischarging, such as overcharging, fraudulent timecards, and falsification of pay records by employees or supervisors working on government programs.
- Liaise with government accounting, government contracts, payroll, and timekeeping functions to identify data necessary for investigations.
- Document and calculate amounts for potential disgorgement and prepare mandatory disclosure documentation.
- Familiarity with government contracting and experience in investigating government time charging/mischarging.
- Knowledge of mandatory disclosure processes and attention to detail.
- Preferred experience includes advanced expertise in Excel and proficiency with Power Bi, Power Query, Microsoft CoPilot, and other Microsoft analytics or visualization tools.
- Preference for candidates with experience in the aerospace or defense industry within an ethics and compliance function.
- US Citizenship is preferred, and security clearance is a bonus but not required.
- This role requires a professional who can hit the ground running, with a strong understanding of labor mischarging in government contracts, and the ability to handle sensitive employment situations.
