This opportunity is based at the system's 650+ bed flagship hospital, home to the region's largest and most advanced heart hospital dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
The organization is currently seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy
, but is also open to candidates interested in transitioning into the permanent role.
The Director of Pharmacy provides leadership for the daily operations of the pharmacy department while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care. This leader oversees pharmacy operations, develops and implements policies and procedures, manages inventory, mentors pharmacy staff, and supports clinical pharmacists and pharmacy personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy
- Ensure safe, effective, and compliant pharmaceutical services
- Lead inventory management and medication distribution processes
- Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies and procedures
- Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate pharmacy staff
- Provide leadership and support to clinical pharmacists and pharmacy personnel
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and hospital leadership to improve patient care
- Serve as a staff pharmacist as needed to support departmental operations
- Promote quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
- Minimum of 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the applicable State Board Of Pharmacy in Oklahoma
- Meets all applicable state requirements (including sterile compounding, where required)
- BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer and prior to providing direct patient care
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
