Job Summary

The purpose of the TA Specialist is to build relationships with department managers, introduce creative and innovative opportunities for sourcing candidates for non‑exempt and exempt level positions, and educate partners on the process, procedures, and best practices.

Job Description

Location:

Candidate must reside in Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Tennessee.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and execute recruitment strategies focused on skilled trades recruitment.
  • Maintain job posting systems in coordination with managers, including initial posting, review, and distribution of candidates.
  • Coordinate interview schedules between interviewers and interviewees.
  • Recruit and source passive and active candidates through social media marketing, Linked In Recruiter, Indeed, phone, and monitoring job posting pipelines.
  • Build a diverse and multi‑skilled talent pipeline to support growth and sustain field operations.
  • Utilize Applicant Tracking Software (ATS) to support recruitment and database maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with managers and candidates at all stages of the process, including facilitating employment offers and securing acceptances.
  • Ensure timely interviewing practices; attend and participate in interviews as required.
  • Follow Talent Acquisition processes set by the manager and recommend or suggest improvements for organizational and departmental success.
  • Aid in the general organization, execution, and communication of pre‑employment procedures.
  • Represent the organization at approved career fairs and job fairs as required.
  • Keep apprised and updated on local, state, national rules, regulations, and labor laws surrounding talent acquisition and recruitment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience recruiting passive and active candidates in a human resources or staffing agency environment.
  • Two or more years of experience recruiting for skilled trades positions preferred.
  • Critical evaluation skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a high‑volume environment required.
  • Fire protection industry knowledge is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to comply with SFPH’s Drug and Alcohol policy, background screening requirements, and any contractual specific requirements.
  • Occasional travel required, up to 20%.

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements
  • Two or more years of experience recruiting passive and active candidates in a human resources or staffing agency environment.
  • Two or more years of experience recruiting for skilled trades positions strongly preferred.

  • Fire protection industry knowledge is a plus.
Communication Skills
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with employees and customers.
Systems and Software Skills
  • Minimum of two years experience with ADP or another ATS preferred.
Other Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Compliance with SFPH’s Drug and Alcohol policy and background screening requirements.
  • Occasional travel up to 20%.

Work Environment Requirements
