OverviewJoin our team as a Commercial Property Field Adjuster. In this position, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and adjusting minor to moderate severity commercial property claims. Ideal candidates are located in Oklahoma.
ResponsibilitiesThe Commercial Property Field Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and adjusting minor to moderate severity commercial property claims. This role involves on-site inspections of insured commercial properties, analysis of policy coverage, preparation of accurate damage estimates, and timely resolution of claims in accordance with company guidelines, policy provisions, and applicable regulations.
- Conduct on-site inspections of commercial properties to assess property damage related to covered losses (e.g., fire, wind, water, vandalism, and other commercial property perils).
- Document damage through photographs, measurements, diagrams, and written reports.
- Determine cause of loss and confirm policy applicability.
- Identify potential coverage issues and exposures early in the claim process.
- Review commercial property policies, endorsements, and declarations to determine coverage, limits, deductibles, and exclusions.
- Identify and communicate coverage determinations clearly to insureds, public adjusters, and agents.
- With supervision, prepare and issue reservation of rights letters and coverage disclaimers/denial letters in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair or replacement cost estimates using approved estimating software and pricing databases.
- Evaluate contractor estimates and invoices for accuracy, scope, and reasonableness.
- Negotiate settlements within assigned authority while maintaining fair claim practices.
- Issue claim payments and settlement documentation in compliance with company procedures.
- Minimum 3–5 years of commercial property claims adjusting experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial property policy forms and endorsements.
- Understands policy language and has experience interpreting minor to moderate coverage matters.
- Experience conducting field inspections of commercial properties.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Xactimate or equivalent).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle report and the ability to travel within the assigned territory.
- Maintains a current adjuster license in designated home state (or willing to obtain one within 60 days after hire) with the ability to obtain additional non‑residential adjuster licenses.
- Exhibits excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates sound negotiation, critical thinking and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Exhibits strong customer service skills with attention to detail.
- Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) as well as claims and imaging systems.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment with limited supervision in handling claims within reserve and settlement authority.
- Experience working in Guidewire Claim Center.
- Professional designations such as AIC, CPCU, or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
