Operations Manager – Tulsa, OK
Our Lamar office in Tulsa, Oklahoma is hiring a safety‐oriented, front‑line Operations Manager to lead a fast‑paced operations team. The Operations Manager manages the operations crew, maintains safe structures, equipment, and shop, and motivates the team through positive leadership and hands‑on training.
Responsibilities- Manage and educate the operations crew, maintaining safe structures, equipment, and shop.
- Maintain safety program, host monthly safety meetings, ensure crew wears correct safety clothing and equipment, and perform monthly safety observations.
- Oversee maintenance and appearance of structures and Lamar owned properties, ensuring advertisements are installed correctly, vegetation is maintained, and structures are properly maintained and upgraded.
- Manage major construction projects, negotiating with subcontractors/vendors, purchasing materials, interacting with lessor, etc.
- Oversee expenses and ensure the operations department remains within budget, tracking inventory.
- Plan daily duties and routes for the operations crew, routing schedules based on installation and maintenance needs.
- Install and maintain billboards when required.
Skills and experience:
- Working knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Skill in setting priorities, establishing rapport, encouraging individuals, listening perceptively, mediating between parties.
- Teamwork, collaboration, maintaining good working relationships.
- Managing, organizing objectives, delegating responsibility, training, evaluating subordinate effectiveness, and administering necessary discipline.
- Detailed knowledge of building and dismantling structures, installing/uninstalling advertisements, electrical upkeep, vegetation maintenance, OSHA, DOT, federal and state safety regulations.
- Understanding and operating within a set budget.
- Knowledge of the inventory/market and obstacles of each structure.
- Ability to drive safely in a company vehicle.
Education and experience:
- High school diploma required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- 3years of Operations experience in the outdoor advertising industry or equivalent safety‑related position required.
- 1‑3years of supervisory experience required.
- Recommendation from Area Field Manager, Territory Manager, or Regional Manager required.
- Preferred certifications: CDL, Crane, Signal, Rigging, or LDD.
- A one‑year certificate or training from a college or technical school in welding, construction, electrical, or related field preferred.
- OSHA safety certification preferred.
- Monday‑Friday 7:00am‑3:30pm work schedule.
- First‑year earning potential of $70,000–$80,000 / year (including bonus opportunities).
