Position: Director, Installation & Construction - Central Division

Purpose

The ideal candidate will establish, implement, and direct install operation strategies across the enterprise. Works with regional and location leadership to facilitate and support installed best practices and collaborate to develop SOPS for BFS Installed Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzes and establishes installed services operational efficiencies to meet market goals and maximize working capital. Oversees the implementation of company strategies across the Division.
  • Oversees divisional‑wide install operations to ensure increased sales and profitability of business mix including establishing consistent and competitive pricing practices in coordination with market strategies.
  • Installation Center cost containment measures and analyzes all possible avenues of controlling both fixed and variable costs at an operational level.
  • Oversees install operations to improve product quality and ensures implementation of appropriate improvements that positively improve product quality.
  • Sets tone and direction to ensure proper inventory management in coordination with market goals.
  • Serves as a liaison between operations and various corporate and regional offices and ensures operations are in line with company goals and strategies.
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co‑workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree with five to seven years of experience managing install operations or supporting multiple install operations in a regional or national capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with lean processing techniques. Must have knowledge of construction and the building materials industry.
  • Preferred experience in working in field operations with installed construction services. Experience as a field superintendent, project manager or similar role in the home building environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to facility locations up to 75%.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, safety and governmental regulations, and technical procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to write business correspondence and develop reports.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and group situations to business leaders and employees.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Knowledge of company products, competitors’ products, and company standards.
  • Knowledge of basic sales techniques, concepts, and the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Knowledge of advanced install operations techniques, concepts, and the ability to influence and persuade best in class practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program.
Work Environment / Physical Activity
  • Combination of indoor and outdoor environments and physical activity requirements.
