We're seeking a strategic, process-driven Director of PMO to lead and evolve our Project Management Office within a specialist HCM/HRIS implementation organization. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing both client-facing and internal initiatives, focused on delivering excellence across complex portfolios. You'll play a critical role in shaping project delivery frameworks, building team capability, and ensuring outcomes align with both business objectives and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the PMO function with responsibility for overseeing all active projects across the Professional Services organization.
- Drive consistent project execution standards, aligning delivery with strategic goals and client needs.
- Develop and evolve project delivery frameworks, templates, and tools to drive quality and efficiency.
- Manage a team of project managers, recruiting, coaching, and growing talent while fostering accountability and high standards.
- Oversee full project life cycles, from planning through to closeout, ensuring budgets, timelines, and scope are consistently met.
- Act as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring transparency, alignment, and timely decision-making.
- Lead capacity planning and resource allocation to match delivery needs across diverse initiatives.
- Define and monitor KPIs to measure project performance and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Govern quality assurance and formal signoff checkpoints across all key stakeholders (client, internal teams, external partners).
- Collaborate closely with sales and client success teams to support pre-sales scoping and project estimation.
- Champion the PMO across the organization, supporting broader change management and cross-functional engagement.
Skills Needed:
- 8+ years of progressive project management experience, with at least 3 years in a PMO leadership role.
- Strong background in managing professional services projects; ideally familiarity with HCM or HRIS implementation.
- PMP certification (or equivalent) required;
Agile or other frameworks also valued. - Experience with SMARTSHEET as a project management tool.
- Proven ability to optimize project delivery models, enhance operational frameworks, and create scalable methodologies.
- Adept at managing cross-functional teams and navigating complex, matrixed environments.
- Strategic thinker with a bias for action, able to influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and adapting to evolving business needs.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree required (business, project management, or related field); advanced degree (MBA or similar) is a plus.
