This is a hands-on position requiring strong troubleshooting ability, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely in industrial environments.
** Shift:
** 6am-4:30pm (some overtime may be required)
Pay: $/hr DOEKey Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and service relief valves, control valves, and manual valves from teardown through final testing
Perform valve disassembly, inspection, cleaning, repair, reassembly, and calibration
Conduct field service work, including on-site repair and testing during plant turnarounds and outages
Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and technical documents
Operate auxiliary testing equipment and tools safely and accurately
Coordinate job setup, scheduling, and follow-up activities
Communicate professionally with customers and plant personnel on job progress and technical issues
Operate company vehicles and equipment responsibly
Participate in rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for emergency service support
Maintain strong safety practices and comply with all plant and company procedures
Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of valve technician or related mechanical experience in refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial plant environments
Experience working turnarounds/shutdowns in refinery or plant settings strongly preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment
Ability to disassemble and rebuild valves independently
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to pass physical, drug screen, and random testing requirements
Comfortable with travel and overnight stays as needed (approximately 50% travel)
Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness
Ability to work independently and maintain productivity with minimal supervision
Strong communication and customer service skills
Basic computer proficiency required
High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred Experience Machining experience
Welding or fabrication experience
Power generation or petrochemical maintenance background
Experience operating/testing pressure relief or control valve systems
