A Day in the Life Start your day at 6:00am, review work orders and specs, set up test stands, and move straight into disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and calibration. You’ll document findings, coordinate scheduling and follow-ups, and head to customer sites when needed to complete on-site diagnostics and testing. Safety and communication are constant threads throughout your work—both with your internal team and with plant personnel.
Schedule & Pay
Shift: 6am–4:30pm (some overtime may be required)
Pay: $18.00–$25.00/hr DOEWhat You’ll Handle Complete valve lifecycle work: diagnose, tear down, repair, reassemble, calibrate, and perform final testing of relief, control, and manual valves
Interpret work orders, specifications, and technical documentation to plan and execute jobs accurately
Operate and maintain auxiliary testing equipment and tooling with precision and care Conduct field service during plant turnarounds and outages, including on-site repairs and testing
Coordinate job setup, scheduling, and follow-up to meet customer timelines
Communicate professionally with customers and plant teams regarding status and technical findings
Drive and operate company vehicles and equipment responsibly
Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for emergency support
Champion safety and adhere to all plant and company procedures
Qualifications2+ years as a valve technician or in closely related mechanical roles within refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial plant settings
Turnaround/shutdown experience in refinery or plant environments strongly preferred
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and industrial equipment repair skills
Confidence in independently disassembling and rebuilding valves
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to pass physical, drug screen, and random testing requirements
Willingness to travel with overnight stays as needed (approximately 50% travel)
High attention to detail, strong organization, and unwavering safety mindset
Self-directed with the ability to maintain productivity under minimal supervision
Clear, professional communication and customer service skills
Basic computer proficiency
High School Diploma or GED Preferred Background Machining experience
Welding or fabrication experience
Maintenance experience in power generation or petrochemical facilities
Hands-on work operating/testing pressure relief or control valve systems
