Job Overview
The Paint Operator prepares surfaces and applies epoxy and urethane wet paints to obtain high-grade finishes on parts or products.
- Applying masking tape and/or caps to protect parts and components that are not to be coated.
- Applying wet coat surfaces of manufactured products with epoxy and urethane coatings.
- Adjust valves on spray guns to regulate the width and pressure of spray.
- Pull trigger and direct spray onto the work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
- Properly cleaning and maintaining all spray equipment including booth maintenance.
- Making suggestions to supervisors for improvements associated with assigned work.
- Following instructions, both written and verbal, from the lead person and production supervisors.
- Operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Inspect your own work for conformity to standards.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Ability to utilize basic arithmetic skills
- Ability to prioritize workload, multitask, and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Knowledge of proper usage of safety equipment
- Ability to use hand tools (gages, guns, and pumps) required (required)
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds (required)
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (required)
