Horizontal Mill Machinist – 2nd Shift

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
2nd Shift | Monday-Thursday
Job Type: Full-Time
Must-Have Requirements- 3-5+ years of CNC horizontal milling experience in a precision machine shop
- Strong understanding of CNC horizontal mill setup and operation
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
- Experience machining tight-tolerance, precision components
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, speeds, feeds, and offsets
- Ability to make machine offsets and adjustments to maintain part quality
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Reliable attendance and ability to work independently
Horizontal Mill Machinist – Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Horizontal Mill Machinist to join a precision manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC horizontal mills to produce complex, close-tolerance components. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of hands-on machining experience in a precision machine shop and be comfortable working with detailed blueprints, tight tolerances, multiple setups, and precision inspection equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC horizontal mills to produce precision-machined components
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, holders, inserts, fixtures, and work holding
- Load programs and make necessary tool offsets and machine adjustments
- Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, work instructions, and GD&T
- Perform multiple-axis and multi-operation machining as required
- Inspect parts during and after machining using precision measuring equipment
- Monitor tooling and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish
- Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
- Follow established quality and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work closely with quality and production personnel to meet production requirements
- Experience machining complex or close-tolerance components preferred
- Experience with multiple CNC controls is a plus
- Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and work holding
- Experience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or other industrial materials
- Strong understanding of shop math and precision measurement
- Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate adjustments
- Experience in a job shop or low-volume, high-mix precision manufacturing environment is highly preferred
