Position: Night Shift Manufacturing Working Lead

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and work alongside production employees in the fabrication and welding of burners, flares, incinerators, and related components during night shift operations.
  • Serve as the primary on-floor lead, providing direction, job assignments, and real-time problem solving to meet production schedules.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with quality standards, drawings, and welding procedures.
  • Promote and maintain HSE compliance, including proper use of PPE and adherence to safety policies.
  • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and communicate issues or needs to supervision.
  • Support training and onboarding of new employees; mentor less experienced team members.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of equipment, tools, and processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide input on employee performance and escalate attendance, performance, or conduct issues as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience required; welding experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a lead, acting lead, or informal supervisory role preferred.
  • Experience in welding, fabrication, machine shop operations, or first-entry manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and welding symbols.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to lead by example.
  • Basic computer skills for production tracking and reporting.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles preferred.
  • Experience with Solomon or similar ERP systems is a plus.
  • Must demonstrate leadership, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work in a shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and industrial equipment.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks associated with fabrication and welding.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required. Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while performing job duties.
