Responsibilities- Provide routine care, observe residents’ health, assist doctors, and communicate instructions to residents regarding medication, home-based care, and preventative lifestyle changes as an LPN.
- Help implement and evaluate care plans for individual care of each resident.
- Maintain appropriate nursing service objectives, goals, and standards of nursing practices as an LPN.
- Receive, transcribe, and implement physician’s orders in a timely manner.
- Report required condition changes and events to appropriate parties.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor infection control compliance.
- Investigate and document accidents/incidents.
- Record a resident’s medical history accurately.
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
- Observe residents under treatment to identify progress and side effects of medications.
- Monitor residents’ condition including fluid intake and output and maintain residents' charts.
- Assist ailing residents in daily activities such as eating and bathing.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas, etc., clean and dress wounds, and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Communicate with residents’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions.
- Proven experience as an LPN or similar role.
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures.
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry.
- Strong physical condition and stamina.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and able to handle stress.
- Successful completion of LPN license program is required.
