Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) responsible for supporting plasma center operations, ensuring donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and providing medical oversight in alignment with SOPs, regulatory requirements, and EHS guidance.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility.
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and assist in developing Center Physician standing orders.
- Communicate unacceptable findings to donors and obtain medical or technical guidance from the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health/ER as necessary.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent; nursing program completion and state licensure (LPN or LVN) required.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Basic IV therapy training meeting state requirements.
- Completed FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
- State licensure for the location of assignment.

Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Actual wage will reflect qualifications, experience, skills, and location while complying with state or local minimum wage requirements.
