Overview
Provide leadership for weekend staff and maintain open communication with the DON and ADON.
Provide routine care, observe residents’ health, assist doctors, and communicate instructions to residents regarding medication, home-based care, and preventative lifestyle changes as an RN.
Job Responsibilities- Help implement and evaluate care plans for individual care of each resident as an RN/LPN.
- Maintain appropriate nursing service objectives, goals, and standards of nursing practices as an RN/LPN.
- Receive, transcribe, and implement physician’s orders in a timely manner.
- Report required condition changes and events to appropriate parties.
- Administer medication/treatments as prescribed as an RN/LPN.
- Monitor infection control compliance.
- Investigate and document accidents/incidents.
- Record a resident’s medical history accurately.
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
- Observe residents under treatment to identify progress and side-effects of medications.
- Monitor residents’ condition including fluid intake and output and maintain residents' charts.
- Assist ailing residents in daily activities such as eating and bathing.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas, clean and dress wounds, and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Communicate with residents’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions.
- Proven experience as RN or similar role.
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures.
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry.
- Perfect physical condition and stamina.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and able to handle stress.
- Successful completion of RN license program is a must.
