• Scheduling Requirement:
  This role requires participation in a rotating weekend schedule. Candidates must be available to work during assigned weekends as part of the regular shift rotation.

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

• About the role:
  
  You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager if applicable) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection industry regulations or a manufacturing environment, and follows guidance provided by Bio Life Medical Affairs, supporting center‑level environmental, health and safety (EHS).
• How you will contribute:
  • Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
  • Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
• What you bring to Takeda:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current licensure or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
