Veterinary Assistant

This Veterinary Assistant role is focused on supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians while delivering high-quality patient care, client education, and hospital efficiency.

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and workflow.
• Prepare for and perform tasks that do not require direct veterinarian or technician involvement.
• Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients as permitted by state regulations.
• Educate clients on preventive care, wellness plans, hospital services, and pet health.
• Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
• Ensure a clean, safe, organized, and compliant hospital environment.
• Assist with surgeries when applicable.
• Utilize veterinary assistant skills in accordance with NAVTA guidelines and state practice acts.

• May require evenings, weekends, and more than 40 hours per week based on business needs.

• Completion of a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent education/training/experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform all required veterinary assistant skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old for radiology-related duties.
• One year of related experience required; customer service experience preferred.
