Purposeof Position
Responsible for maintaining quality requirements and standards, process improvements and supporting and administering the ISO 9001 based Quality Management System.
Tasks and Responsibilities- Perform varied and complex aspects of the position with limited decision‑making latitude.
- Analyze data using quantitative methods across business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements.
- Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analysis, reporting and problem solving.
- Plan, control and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, including planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling and measurement systems.
- Design and implement methods for process control, improvement, testing and inspection.
- Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
- Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
- Instruct others in continuous process improvements using problem‑solving and productivity techniques such as LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Team‑Based Training.
- Develop strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the Quality Management System.
- Apply industrial‑engineering problem‑solving and productivity techniques to evaluate the improvement of recommended strategies and programs.
- Review, analyze and report quality‑system data to identify trends and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline.
Minimum ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of industrial experience or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesBroad knowledge of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards and improvement systems; diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.
Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentOccasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs; regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility. Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
