About the RoleWe are looking for a highly experienced and result-oriented professional for the position of State Head – Channel Sales for Assam. The candidate will be responsible for driving overall sales growth, strengthening dealer-distributor networks, expanding market penetration, handling retail and trade sales operations, and leading the complete state business operations for Assam.
The ideal candidate should possess strong exposure in the Steel, TMT, Cement, or Building Materials industry with deep market understanding of Assam and North East markets.
Key Responsibilities (KRA/KPI) Sales & Business Development- Drive overall state sales targets and revenue growth for the assigned territory.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase market share.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
- Ensure growth in primary and secondary sales across Assam.
- Appoint and develop new dealers and distributors across key markets.
- Strengthen relationships with existing channel partners.
- Monitor distributor investments, stock movement, and profitability.
- Ensure healthy channel management and market discipline.
- Handle retail sales operations across urban and rural markets.
- Increase brand visibility and market penetration.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market intelligence.
- Conduct dealer meets, retailer engagement programs, and market campaigns.
- Lead, guide, and motivate the state sales team.
- Monitor team performance and ensure target achievement.
- Conduct regular field visits and market reviews.
- Build a high-performance sales culture.
- Identify new business opportunities and untapped markets.
- Expand product reach in key districts and emerging territories.
- Develop strong influencer networks including contractors, fabricators, engineers, and builders.
- Ensure timely collections and outstanding control.
- Coordinate with finance and supply chain teams for smooth operations.
- Maintain credit discipline within channel partners.
- Prepare monthly sales forecasts and MIS reports.
- Coordinate with marketing, logistics, and production teams.
- Submit regular business performance updates to management.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in Steel, TMT, Cement, or Building Materials Industry.
- Strong exposure in Channel Sales & Distribution Management.
- Excellent knowledge of Assam and North East market.
- Proven track record in handling dealer-distributor networks.
- Strong leadership and team management capability.
- Experience in retail sales and market development.
- Ability to handle pressure and achieve aggressive targets.
- Good communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
