- Participate in structured on-the-job training in land inspection, appraisal support, conservation planning, and lease compliance
- Shadow senior specialists during field inspections and receive ongoing mentorship
- Assist with inspections of trust lands for compliance with lease terms, Commission rules, agency policies, and state laws
- Document field observations and prepare draft inspection reports
- Observe and document tillage practices, grazing ratios, soil and water conservation methods, and environmental conditions
- Identify potential erosion, land degradation, and compliance concerns
- Support appraisal activities by collecting field data, photographing properties, researching comparable land sales, and preparing draft documentation
- Assist in identifying trust lands impacted by oil, gas, or other environmental disturbances
- Support conservation or remediation planning under senior-staff guidance
- Use GIS tools, mapping software, and aerial imagery for inspections, soil evaluation, grazing analysis, and conservation planning
- Maintain accurate records and field data entries
- Communicate with lessees, agricultural operators, and internal staff
- Refer complex or sensitive matters to supervisors
- Maintain records of inspections, appraisals, compliance activities, and conservation initiatives
- Prepare draft correspondence and reports for review and approval
- Travel frequently within the assigned territory and routinely to CLO headquarters in Oklahoma City; occasional overnight travel may be required
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Finance, Natural Resources, or a closely related field
- Two years of experience in land management, agriculture, soil conservation, farm or ranch operations, agricultural lending, appraisal support, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Foundational understanding of agricultural practices, soil conservation concepts, and land stewardship principles
- Ability to learn GIS tools, appraisal methods, lease interpretation, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to observe land conditions, identify compliance issues, and accurately document findings
- Professional communication with lessees, supervisors, and team members
- Attention to detail and accurate documentation
- Ability to manage assigned tasks, field schedules, and reporting deadlines
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States full-time without sponsorship now or in the future
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
- Valid driver's license from a U.S. state or territory
- Ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory and routinely to Oklahoma City
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, traverse uneven terrain, ascend and descend slopes and embankments, and work outdoors in varying weather
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer, phone, and office equipment
- Ability to lift, carry, and position materials or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
- Clear and accurate communication, strong analytical skills, sustained focus, attention to detail, memory retention, adaptability, and mental flexibility
Demonstrates expertise in land inspection, appraisal support, and conservation planning, with a strong foundation in agricultural practices and soil conservation concepts. Proficient in using GIS tools for data collection and analysis while maintaining accurate documentation and effective communication with stakeholders.
