Job Description

This position requires intensive case management for the highest‑risk youth. Duties include conducting screening and risk assessments, performing investigations for the Court, and completing intakes at the request of law enforcement. Intensive case management includes facilitating groups, utilizing the science of brain development as a foundation, skill training, high‑level engagement with families, schools, and service providers. Service matching aligned with key life areas is essential, along with monitoring court conditions and doing transition planning for those placed out of home.

Non‑traditional hours and being “on‑call” are expected.

Location:

In‑office only. Travel may be required at times.

Work schedule:

Core Monday–Friday daytime. Occasional on‑call, evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.

Salary & Compensation

Starting Salary: $60,313.77 annually (Hiring Rate). 2.5% pay increase after successful completion of the probation period unless starting above the Minimum Permanent rate. Annual cost‑of‑living adjustments apply on July
1.

Job Duties
  • Investigate, monitor, and supervise high‑risk individuals on probation, post‑release supervision, and involvement in a Problem‑Solving Court for adult and juvenile offenders.
  • Perform counseling, case management, case reporting, and related functions for a caseload under close supervision.
  • Develop a team supervision approach with referral sources (probation officer, Navigation Officer, Problem‑Solving Court Team, County Jail staff, Prison caseworker).
  • Participate in the treatment process of individuals and engage in the probationer’s treatment through regular communication with treatment providers and attendance at treatment groups and facilities; assist in relapse prevention planning.
  • Facilitate groups including but not limited to topical, supervision, cognitive programs, skill building, life‑skills enhancement, and general education.
  • Prepare violation and compliance reports, conduct record checks, enter and update client information in the appropriate systems, and determine reports to send to the court for updates.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
  • Qualifications
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Education:

      Bachelor’s degree in social services, criminal justice, or a directly related field.
    • Experience:

      2years of case management in related fields.
    • Combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties may be considered.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working with youth or families through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, or similar roles.
    • Experience with Probation, DHHS, NDCS, or related systems, and skills in interviewing, investigation, or case management.
    • All educational credits must be from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Department of Education.

    • Intervention policies and procedures.
    • Cognitive skill building, motivational learning.

    • Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills in interactions with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, and others.
    Physical Requirements

    Incumbents may be subjected to environmental threats, odors, dust, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and travel. Light work:
