Annual Benefit Allowance

Positions in this job family are responsible for performing management and supervisory tasks for one or more highway maintenance units or supervising the maintenance operations for a turnpike.
Typical FunctionsThe functions performed in this job family will vary by level, unit and organization, but may include the following:
- Plans, lays out and directs operations of maintenance, construction and traffic control projects; prepares project schedules; consults with engineering and other departments to provide information on work priorities and on availability of equipment, labor and materials.
- Plans and directs the training of personnel in the operation and servicing of equipment and semiskilled and skilled labor operations such as repair and overlay of asphalt surfacing, patching and mud jacking, armor-coating, concrete laying, seeding and sodding, bridge repairs, drainage correction, sign erection or traffic marking.
- Performs inspection of highways, bridges and traffic control devices in order to assess maintenance needs.
