SALARY: Based on Experience, $12.23 - $14.24 per hour

High School Diploma or GED Preferred - Experience:
1 Year of experience working with special needs children preferred - Skills:
Ability to communicate appropriately with students, parents, and district staff. Understanding of wheelchair mechanics and bus lifts.
SUMMARY: Assist with the loading/unloading of special needs students. Responsible for the safe transport of the students to school. May assist with student emergency health needs.

Ability to build and foster harmonious rapport and work cooperatively with District staff and the public while achieving the objectives and goals of the position.
Ability to handle problematic and/or difficult situations professionally by communicating with the appropriate person.
Able to be in attendance for assigned responsibilities with 95% attendance.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSExposure to extremes of heat and cold. Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS- Ability to manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs for 20 feet.
- Walking as required to access equipment and perform responsibilities.
- Sitting for length of assigned route.
- Use of hands and arms to assist with wheelchairs, setting brakes, foot pedals, etc.
- Climbing and descending bus steps.
- Stooping, kneeling, and crouching as required for student care.
- Talking and hearing to communicate concerning job-related duties.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) with or without correction.
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more) with or without correction.
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
- Peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
