AFO is looking for a TMP Operations Supervisor to work in Fort Sill, OK. The Transportation Department Operations Supervisor oversees daily operations of the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) at Fort Sill, managing drivers, safety, training, and bus readiness to ensure all missions are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Army regulations and contract requirements. This role includes supervising personnel, coordinating bus dispatching and maintenance activities, maintaining accurate records, conducting driver evaluations and accident investigations, and working closely with government officials and customers to support timely mission completion.
The supervisor is responsible for enforcing safety programs, managing schedules and reports, supporting bus maintenance operations, and ensuring high operational standards across all TMP functions. TMP Operations Supervisor works closely with Transportation Department Manager and TMP Bus Supervisors for accomplishment of Ft Sill, OK transportation mission.
- Manage day-to-day operation of bus transportation, working closely with Transportation Department Manager.
- Oversee the safe day-to-day operations of the TMP at Fort Sill and within the AR 5-9 Area of Responsibility.
- Ensure the scheduling, dispatching, vehicle maintenance, and movement of passengers are executed safely and effectively in accordance with Army regulations, contract requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Recruit, train, evaluate, and supervise bus drivers, substitute drivers, bus aids.
- Maintain accurate vehicle, driver qualification, and equipment records, ensuring timely reporting of all TMP operations and reports.
- Coordinate daily with the Government and TMP customers to ensure safe and on-time completion of all missions.
- Conduct drivers check rides and post-accident road tests to verify driver competency and adherence to safety standards.
- Inspect TMP vehicles, loading points, and drop-off locations to ensure compliance with schedules, safety, and cleanliness requirements.
- Investigate and report accidents within 30 minutes, including scene documentation, vehicle inspection, SF-91 completion, and coordination of post-accident procedures.
- Direct vehicle operations as necessary to meet mission requirements and ensure efficient use of personnel and equipment.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings, submitting reports as required.
- Maintain and report daily and weekly reimbursable spreadsheets.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections, work orders, and parts/supply requisitions to support TMP readiness.
- Overall responsibility for vehicle maintenance; inspections, repairs, and fueling operations; coordinate with maintenance personnel
- Primary work schedule will be first-shift Monday-Friday. Occasional after hours or weekend hours may be needed to support TMP training mission.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support TMP operations and mission requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and board policies related to school bus construction, maintenance, and pupil transportation
- Prepare and maintain transportation records, reports, and logs; submit contracts, bids, and DRTRS (Driver Record Tracking System) data
- Develop and manage transportation budgets; assist in bid preparation and cost containment
- Liaise with principals, teachers, parents, law enforcement, and the highway department on route issues, road conditions, and safety concerns
- Plan in-service training programs, new driver orientations, and safety procedures
- Respond to accidents, breakdowns, and weather-related route changes; report safety and compliance issues to management
- Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in transportation or motor pool operations. - Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A/B with Passenger Endorsement required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple operational activities under tight deadlines.
