Seton College Teaching Position
Seton College is a new two-year college division of UMSV that will offer an associate's degree for 100 students that have been historically underserved, who may require additional academic support, and who are motivated for post-secondary success annually beginning in the 2024–2025 academic year. The program's goal is to prepare students to enroll in a bachelor's degree program or to begin their professional careers.
Seton College students will study on the Riverdale Campus of UMSV and have full access to UMSV's facilities and programs.
While all applications will be reviewed, priority consideration will be given to those submitted by April 20, 2026. Start Date

Job Description:
This is the first course in a two-semester sequence designed to develop college-level thinking and writing skills. Students engage in speaking and writing assignments of increasing complexity, responding to literary texts to strengthen their ability to formulate, support, and revise ideas. While paragraph-level skills are reviewed, the primary focus is on essay writing. A minimum grade of C is required to pass the course.
Upon successful completion, students will enroll in Writing in Context II (WIC II) to fulfill the Core writing requirement.

Responsibilities:
- Teach 3-6 credits in subject area of expertise using teaching practices that have been shown to be effective for first-generation students.
- Provide an up to date syllabus for students.
- Maintain an engaging and welcoming classroom setting that promotes high standards and inclusivity.
- Actively contribute to a professional learning community by participating in professional development that promotes pedagogical learning and growth.
- Be present and available to students on campus during office hours.
