Music Teacher - Elementary​/Middle; NY SY

Job Title

Excellence Community Schools is seeking a passionate, patient, quick-thinking, & innovative Music Teacher.

This position currently includes responsibility for classroom music for Elementary or Middle School. Experience in a classroom music setting engaging all children is desired.

Provides instruction in music in a variety of settings & uses effective instructional techniques tailored to individual student's goals and objectives & provides instruction and support in the area of music education. Implements curricula and activities to meet academic standards. Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards. Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices. Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions.

Provides consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior. Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards. Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• New York State Teaching Certification in Education/Music Grades 1-6 or Middle School preferred
• A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in music education, working with children, and providing music instruction in an urban school setting is required.
• Passionate about teaching music and enforcing the learning of music concepts required.
• Have educational and/or professional training in developing and implementing a music education program for children

• Salary Range: ($60,271- $148,412). Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
