Continuing Education Manager (HEA) - Manager of Healthcare Career Pathways and Continuing Education
** POSITION DETAILS
** Career Advancement and Continuing Education's mission is to equip the greater Bronx Community College community with technical and professional skills to launch family-sustaining careers in support of the overall economic development of the Bronx. We do this by offering low- and no­-cost training and certifications for community members and BCC students in high-demand sectors, such as education, healthcare, green jobs, and IT.

In addition, our Office of Career Advancement provides students with job-readiness and career-building services and connections to internships and jobs. We are a front-door for employers to BCC, ensuring degree and training programs are responsive to employer demand and employers see BCC as a go-to source of talent. Reporting to the Dean of Career Advancement and Continuing Education, within the College's Office of Academic Affairs, the Manager of Healthcare Career Pathways and Continuing Education is a new role responsible for leading the college's largest portfolio for the leading sector for employment in the Bronx.

Health Sciences is the fastest growing and evolving area for both the degree and non-degree programs at BCC, representing our largest student enrollment and strongest employment outcomes. The Manager will oversee and build programs in healthcare serving new entrants to the field, degree-seeking students, and healthcare professionals looking to gain additional certifications. The Manager leads partnerships with hospitals and other employer partners to advise trainings, develop clinical affiliations, and develop direct pipelines to employment for our graduates.

This person will initially be hired on a grant-funded line; they will also be engaged in fundraising to support the ongoing success and expansion of healthcare career pathways training offerings s role is an exciting and unique opportunity to work at the nexus of internal campus operations and external partnerships.
** What to Expect in the Role
** The Manager will shepherd the launch of new, creative, in-demand offerings from ideation to implementation, for instance in public-private partnerships, distance education, on-line learning, and credit for prior learning, in response to the needs of healthcare employers. This person will also coordinate with faculty and others on campus in relevant departments to identify credit for prior learning and microcredential or badging opportunities that upskill degree-seeking students in relevant fields and bring these agreements to fruition.

The Manager will oversee operations for new and existing allied health training programs, including hiring instructors, vetting curricula, marketing programs, maintaining enrollment, and monitoring graduation and employment outcomes. These programs operate on both the grant-funded Research Foundation and Tax Levy-funded sides, as well as federal and state financial aid. As such, the Manager can expect to be in charge of grant reporting, budget maintenance, and staff oversight as applicable.

** Building External Partnerships
** The Manager will be largely external-facing working to build strong partnerships with employers such as hospitals, local providers, unions, and others to identify training needs and launch programs in response. The Manager will be the face of the unit for these partners and continually be out in the field expanding BCC's network and visibility to establish BCC as a hub for advancing health equity and talent in the Bronx.

** Raising Visibility of Programs
** Programs are funded through grants, tuition, and contracts with employers. This role would be funded by grants through June 2028, with the expectation that revenue from contract training with employer partners will make the programs self-sustaining over time. In addition, this role will seek out/support applications for grant funding from government and philanthropic sources to pilot new, innovative offerings.
** QUALIFICATIONS
* * Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Prior work experience in a clinical or allied health administration, workforce development, and/or community college education role.

- In-depth knowledge of trends in hospital and other healthcare settings and how they impact hiring and upskilling needs for future and current employees.

- Experience developing new education or training programs for clinical and allied health roles, including managing relevant accreditation and approval processes.

- Commitment to expanding career pathways in healthcare careers for historically underrepresented populations.

- Demonstrated interest in piloting innovative partnerships with employers and trying new learning modalities.

- Demonstrated ability to navigate multiple stakeholders in continuing education, including employers, faculty, higher education administration, and funders.
