Crafters Assistant Educator, Children's Gardening Program

Assist with the logistics and implementation of the Children's Gardening Program at the Edible Academy.

Specific

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist supervisors and educators in preparing for, facilitating, and cleaning up the Children's Gardening Program.
• Promote positive interactions amongst program participants.
• Aid in logistics and safety requirements during program sessions.
• Assist with general horticultural tasks in the garden plots with the participants, and maintain an organized work area, including care of garden tools and enrichment activity supplies.
• Assist supervisors and educators with check in and check out procedures.
• Mentor Super Crafters during reflection meetings.

Qualifications:

Applicant should have an interest in gardening and teaching, as well as excellent communication and organizational abilities. Applicants must be professional, mature, and an enthusiastic attitude is essential.

Physical Demand & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to:

• Work outdoors under a variety of weather conditions.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
• Work under low, moderate, or loud work conditions.
• Be comfortable using a variety of garden and kitchen tools.
• Be comfortable working with enthusiastic and excited children.

Work Schedule:

This is temporary part time role, with an anticipated start date in September 2026 through November 2027. The standard schedule is Saturday 8AM to 1PM.

Rate: $18 - $21 per hour
