Media Instructor

Boys & Girls Clubs of America seeks a Media Instructor to lead engaging media and digital storytelling programs for youth in a safe, inclusive Club environment. This role designs and delivers hands-on lessons in video, photography, audio, and basic editing, guiding members from concept to finished projects while reinforcing academic, leadership, and life skills. The Media Instructor maintains equipment and lab spaces, manages group behavior, tracks participation, and collaborates with Club staff to integrate media into core programs, supporting BGCA's mission to help all young people reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver age-appropriate media and digital storytelling programs for youth
• Teach fundamentals of video production, photography, audio, and basic editing software
• Supervise youth in a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom or lab environment
• Guide members through hands-on projects from concept to final media products
• Maintain and organize media equipment, software, and studio/lab spaces
• Collaborate with Club staff to integrate media into academic, leadership, and arts programs
• Coach youth on teamwork, communication, and responsible digital citizenship
• Track attendance, participation, and basic outcomes for media programs
• Engage and communicate with parents, caregivers, and community partners as needed
• Support BGCA mission, policies, youth protection, and behavior management standards
