Junior Program Assistant

The Junior Program Assistant at Boys & Girls Clubs of America supports the delivery of safe, engaging after-school and summer programs for youth. Working closely with program staff, this role helps set up and run daily activities that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development. Responsibilities include supervising members, assisting with homework and enrichment projects, preparing materials, maintaining orderly program spaces, and recording attendance.

The Junior Program Assistant models positive behavior, supports an inclusive environment, and helps ensure that all young people feel welcomed, encouraged, and prepared to thrive.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of youth development programs and activities
• Assist with daily program operations, schedules, and recordkeeping
• Provide positive supervision and engagement with Club members
• Help facilitate academic support, healthy lifestyle, and leadership activities
• Coordinate supplies, room setup, and cleanup for programs
• Collect participation data and help track outcomes and attendance
• Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and families
• Uphold safety, inclusion, and behavior expectations in all settings
