Contract & Schedule Details

• Duration: Fixed-term contract (no extension available)
• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Nights)
• Hours: 34.5 hours per week
  • 3 shifts per week
  • 11.5 hours per shift

Position Overview

As a Trauma ICU RN, you will provide direct, high-level care to critically ill trauma patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced clinical interventions. This role demands strong assessment skills, rapid decision-making, and technical expertise in a dynamic ICU setting.
Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 or 1:2 patient care for individuals with life-threatening traumatic injuries
• Perform advanced IV insertion and phlebotomy with a high level of proficiency
• Manage complex medication titrations and continuous infusions
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation for bedside procedures
• Ensure airway patency and hemodynamic stability during sedation
• Maintain accurate, real-time electronic medical documentation in compliance with New York State standards
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary critical care teams

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care experience (required)
• Demonstrated expertise in IV insertion and phlebotomy
• Hands-on experience with conscious sedation protocols
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in high-acuity environments

Education & Licensure

• Active New York State RN License (Primary Source Verification required)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher

Certifications (Required)

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
