Summary:
• Are you passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use challenges and build healthier, more independent lives?
• We are seeking a compassionate and motivated CASAC-T to join our Residential Behavioral Health team. In this role, you'll work alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide counseling, recovery support, crisis intervention, and care coordination for adults living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• This is an excellent opportunity for a counselor who enjoys building meaningful relationships, advocating for clients, and making a lasting impact within a supportive residential setting.
What You'll Do:
• Provide individual substance use counseling and recovery support.
• Facilitate relapse prevention, psycho educational, and recovery-focused groups.
• Complete substance use assessments and individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct required 90-day treatment plan reviews and ongoing progress assessments.
• Manage a caseload of residents with current or past substance use disorders.
• Collaborate with Case Managers, Clinical Supervisors, and other members of the treatment team to coordinate care.
• Connect residents with detox, rehabilitation, outpatient treatment, medical providers, and community resources.
• Advocate for residents to ensure they receive the services needed to support long-term recovery.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the Foothold electronic health record.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and required trainings.
• Engage family members and other support systems when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and effectively during behavioral health or substance use crises.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
• 1 year of experience in residential setting preferred
• CASAC-T certificate required
• CASAC-T credential in good standing with OASAS.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, mental illness, or co-occurring disorders.
• Experience in residential treatment, supportive housing, behavioral health, or community-based programs.
• Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Care, and Recovery-Oriented practices.
• Experience using electronic health records (Foothold/AWARDS preferred).
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
