Psychiatric Technician

The Psychiatric Technician is an integral member of the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit. They provide direct patient care and clinical support under the supervision of registered nurses. This role ensures safety on the unit and engages patients in therapeutic activities. They support children and adolescents with daily needs during their hospitalization. The Psychiatric Technician performs clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.

This is done as part of a trauma-informed, developmentally sensitive model of care. A certification in the application and use of restraints and seclusion is required. Prior experience working with youth in behavioral health settings is preferred. Completion of a recognized crisis intervention training is advantageous.
