Job Title
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide guidance and support to managers on day-to-day issues that may impact absence management, performance management, misconduct and disciplinary procedures.
- Assist in the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures and other strategic HR program initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with managers, employees and where applicable union representatives in resolving workplace concerns.
- Provide collective bargaining agreement and policy interpretation, guidance, and implementation support.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the need to update Employee Handbook.
- Review and responds to claims for unemployment insurance.
- Maintain the Exit Survey Process, analyze data and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Maintain and monitor reporting systems, data and records in relation to meeting employee engagement goals.
- Assist in the development and execution of opportunities to enhance Einstein as a "great place to work".
- Receive, investigate and respond to complaints, including sexual harassment and discrimination. Prepare report of findings and propose recommendations.
- Support the design and delivery of employee relations trainings.
- Assist and coordinate, as assigned, with employee events across the College, such as the annual appreciation day picnic, annual staff recognition awards and blood drives.
- Work on special projects as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Educational Background :
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required. Master's preferred.
- Five to seven years of related employee relations experience required.
- Demonstrates experience in addressing employee relations issues, and working directly with managers and employees in addressing same.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations, reports of misconduct or policy violations.
- Experience in an academic or research setting is a plus, but not a requirement.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
- Must have outstanding organizational skills.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information in a mature and professional manner.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to conceptualize and think strategically.
- Strong influencing and relationship skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Salary Range USD $/Yr. Maximum Salary Range USD $/Yr.
