the office of the district attorney, bronx county ("bxda") is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the bronx county community. In furtherance of this mission, the bxda seeks experienced and enthusiastic senior recruitment coordinator in the human resources recruitment unit to aid and oversee all aspects of recruitment activities.
The hr senior recruitment coordinator provides advanced human resources and recruitment support for the agency, with primary responsibility for coordinating and administering full-cycle recruitment, personnel processing, classification-related activities, and civil service requirements. Serves as a key resource to agency leadership and hiring managers throughout the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal requirements, as well as applicable dcas policies and procedures.
key responsibilities:
- leads and coordinates full-cycle recruitment activities within nycaps ehire, from requisition review and posting through candidate selection, pre-employment processing, and onboarding.
- represents the agency at external recruitment fairs, career events, and other talent acquisition initiatives; develops and facilitates internal candidate pools to support current and anticipated staffing needs.
- partners with hiring managers and agency leadership to review and update job descriptions, ensuring positions accurately reflect organizational needs and remain compliant with applicable city, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
- reviews recruitment requests to verify the accuracy, appropriateness, and relevance of titles and position information prior to posting.
- develops, prepares, and issues internal and external recruitment postings, including agency-wide lateral transfer and promotional opportunities and citywide postings; enters and manages postings in nycaps ehire through final review and official release.
- reviews applications and resumes, evaluates candidates against established minimum qualifications, and pre-qualifies applicants for consideration by hiring managers and interview panels.
- provides guidance to hiring managers throughout the candidate selection process and ensures recruitment activities are conducted consistently, objectively, and in accordance with applicable civil service and personnel requirements.
- coordinates all aspects of the interview process, including candidate scheduling, interview panel coordination, interview materials, logistics, follow-up, and candidate communications.
- documents recruitment and interview activities in nycaps and ensures required records and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with agency and city requirements.
- coordinates with appropriate stakeholders to determine and secure salary information in preparation for extending job offers, ensuring compensation recommendations are consistent with applicable policies, classifications, and requirements.
- processes new hires, promotions, transfers, and other personnel actions in accordance with citywide requirements and dcas policies and procedures.
- initiates and monitors all required tracking activities and workflow processes for selected candidates, following up with candidates and internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of outstanding requirements.
- reviews, verifies, and maintains all required pre-onboarding and personnel documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- facilitates the end-to-end processing of selected candidates by reviewing and submitting e-hire packages and ensuring candidates receive, complete, and return all required documentation.
- serves as a knowledgeable point of contact for candidates, hiring managers, and agency stakeholders, providing timely guidance regarding recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboarding requirements.
- maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive personnel, candidate, compensation, and employment information.
- identifies opportunities to improve recruitment processes, strengthen candidate experience, and enhance the efficiency and accuracy of hiring and onboarding workflows.
- maintains accurate recruitment records and tracking data and utilizes hris and related systems to monitor recruitment activity, identify outstanding actions, and support workforce planning and reporting.
