Business Data and Reporting Analyst Level 2 - Information Technology
** GENERAL DUTIES
** Under supervision, provides and/or oversees expert end-user support by proficiently and accurately inputting, auditing, and reporting on information in CUNYfirst (i.e., People Soft). CUNYfirst is the City University of New York's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Oracle/People Soft system used to capture and maintain the University's student administration, human resources and finance functions. This position differs from an Information Technology position in that an incumbent in an Information Technology position provides hardware support, software programming and networking, systems planning, and/or technological troubleshooting while a Business Data and Reporting Analyst is a highly skilled end-user of CUNYfirst.

There are 4 levels of this title. Related duties may be assigned as needed. Levels 1 and 2 are non-exempt from FLSA. Levels 3 and 4 are exempt from FLSA. ** The Business Data & Reporting Analyst will perform a broad range of information technology business systems functions, including data reporting, data analysis, and administrative support, while maintaining strict confidentiality and a strong attention to detail. The incumbent will support the Office of Information Technology by developing reports, maintaining data integrity, supporting strategic initiatives, and assisting with daily IT operations and procedures.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Business Data & Reporting Analyst will:

- Develop, maintain, and distribute operational, strategic, and executive reports related to information technology services, projects, cybersecurity, infrastructure, customer support, and institutional initiatives.

- Compile, analyze, validate, and audit data from enterprise systems and departmental sources to identify discrepancies, ensure data integrity, and support informed decision-making.

- Serve as a point of contact and information resource for campus departments requesting technology-related reports, statistics, and operational data.

- Participate in enterprise system implementations, upgrades, testing activities, and reporting initiatives, including CUNYfirst, Workday, SharePoint, and other campus information systems.

- Assist with maintaining technology inventories, project documentation, service level metrics, and conducting data audits to support operational effectiveness and compliance requirements.

- Respond to inquiries related to information technology operations, reporting requests, service metrics, and business processes; research and resolve issues using CUNY and campus systems.

- Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and briefing materials for the CIO, Cabinet, governance committees, and campus stakeholders.

- Support technology fee reporting, strategic planning initiatives, assessment activities, and institutional reporting requirements.

- Assist with budget tracking, procurement reporting, contract documentation, and other administrative functions supporting the Office of Information Technology.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.
** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
** All Levels - Possession of a High School Diploma or GED.

- Demonstrated English language proficiency, including the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English well enough to meet minimally acceptable performance standards set for the job tasks.

- One (1) year of related full-time experience utilizing People Soft computer software technology. CUNY considers full-time experience to be 35 hours per week. Experience that is less than full-time and more than 20 hours per week can be prorated at 50% (e.g., two month's related work experience at 20-35 hours per week equate to one month's full-time related work experience.)
