Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized psychiatric nursing care to adult patients with mental health disorders, ensuring safety and effective treatment. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and maintains compliance with clinical standards.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medication and monitor patient responses according to treatment plans.
• Conduct safety checks, room inspections, and vital sign assessments multiple times per shift.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide direct observation of patient care.
• Document patient progress, behaviors, and clinical data accurately in electronic health records.
• Support team members in crisis management, including de-escalation and restraint procedures.
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing training to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with at least 1 year of psychiatric care experience.
• Maintain current BLS, PCT, and de-escalation training certification.
• Demonstrate competence in patient safety protocols, including physical restraint and monitoring.
• Prior experience with adult psychiatric populations, including diagnoses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with availability for float duties.
