Requirements:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and follow-up visits
- Diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, psychosis, behavioral disturbances, and chronic mental illness
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications based on patient needs and treatment response
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to psychiatric, medical, and psychosocial needs
- Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, therapists, social workers, administrators, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Support behavioral management planning and continuity-of-care coordination
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment recommendations
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within EMR systems
- Support quality psychiatric care within assigned facilities and clinical programs
- Provide care in structured on-site outpatient, hospital, or long-term care environments
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Active and unrestricted New York State Nurse Practitioner license
- DEA registration preferred or ability to obtain
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to practice independently
- Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, nursing homes, long-term care, hospital psychiatry, or outpatient psychiatry preferred
- Experience with geriatric or medically complex populations is a plus
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare environments
