Ambulatory Oncology LPN
The Ambulatory Oncology LPN is responsible for providing direct patient care and clinical support within a hematology outpatient clinic that specializes in treating patients with sickle cell disease and thrombosis disorders. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient intake assessments and document clinical information accurately.
- Obtain and record vital signs and perform point-of-care testing.
- Administer vaccines and collect laboratory specimens per protocol.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care coordination and education.
- Maintain compliance with clinic policies and ensure proper documentation.
- Support the interdisciplinary team in delivering patient-centered treatment.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Proven experience in outpatient or hematology clinics preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
- Ability to perform point-of-care testing and administer vaccines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
