Registered Nurse – Psychiatric

$2150.16/week -

Job Summary:

Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care to adolescent and adult patients in a high-acuity behavioral health setting. Ensure patient safety, de-escalate behavioral crises, and deliver compassionate, evidence-based interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient mental and physical health to develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, including psychotropics, via IM or PO as prescribed.
• Monitor and respond to patient behaviors, utilizing de-escalation and restraint techniques when necessary.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and PCTs, to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately in electronic health records.
• Support crisis prevention and early intervention to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold active RN licensure in the state.
• Possess at least 1 year of recent psychiatric nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in de-escalation and restraint procedures.
• Have experience with mental health medications and behavioral interventions.
• Credentialed with BLS, ACLS, PALS, and additional certifications such as CPI or Handle with Care.
• Prefer candidates with medical experience in MS, MS-Tele, PCU, ICU, or similar units.
