Position Overview
North Central Bronx Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Supervisor / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with strong Med/Surg and nursing leadership experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive supervisory experience and a proven ability to monitor patient care, support staff performance, develop programs, and implement corrective actions when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and develop programs to improve patient care and staff performance.
• Monitor nursing and patient-care performance across assigned units.
• Collaborate with Nurse Managers to assess unit operations and address performance concerns.
• Implement and monitor corrective actions as needed.
• Support quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
• Develop and maintain record-keeping systems for medication errors and staff counseling.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff.
• Promote compliance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with maintaining high-quality patient care and efficient unit operations.
• Communicate effectively with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams.

• Minimum 7 years of nursing experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Proven supervisory/leadership experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Active New York State RN License.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to work alternating weekends.

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN).
