Job Title

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review work orders or supervisor instructions to determine job requirements
  • Prepare, protect, and smooth surfaces using masking tape, plastic, drop cloths, scrapers, and sandpaper
  • Remove old finishes by sanding, scraping.
  • Fill cracks, holes, and joints using caulk, Structolite / cement, plaster, blocks or wire mesh using the proper tools while utilizing the proper tools and techniques.
  • Apply primers, Shellacs or bonding agents to prepare surfaces for plastering / painting
  • Apply primers, paints and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
  • Sand, prime and paint walls as required by work orders
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and ensure high-quality results
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is plus.

Work Experience and

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in painting and/or plastering.
  • Working knowledge of materials, methods, and hand tools in painting and plastering.
  • Must be available for emergency work.
  • Bi-Lingual is a plus.

Testing:

  • Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.

Physical Requirements:

Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 100 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
