Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications Required

• Valid driver's license (NY, NJ, CT, or PA) required – no exceptions
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Must be available for emergency and after-hours work
• Must successfully complete a thirty (30) hour pest control certification course within six (6) months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in extermination or pest control application
• Working knowledge of extermination equipment, tools, and materials

Essential

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect premises to identify infestation sources and extent of damage to property, wall(s), roof porosity, and access to infested locations.
• Under supervision, spray or dust chemical solutions, powders, or gases into rooms, furnishings, clothing, or outdoor areas such as marshlands, ditches, or catch basins.
• Set mechanical traps or place poisonous paste or bait in sewers, burrows, or ditches.
• Measure treatment areas, calculate fumigant requirements, and estimate cost for service.
• Post warning signs and close/lock building doors to secure areas to be fumigated.
• Drive vehicles equipped with power spraying gear and tools.
• Assist other workers in treatment or extermination processes to eliminate or control pests, insects, or weeds.
• Clean and remove blockages from infested areas to facilitate spraying procedures and ensure proper drainage using brooms, mops, shovels, or rakes.
• Clean work site after completion of job.
• Complete daily assigned work orders and record activities performed.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Testing:

• Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.

Physical Requirements:

• Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
